Daniela Amodei is the co-founder and president of Anthropic, where she oversees day-to-day operations, policy, and go-to-market for the Claude model family. She previously led safety and policy teams at OpenAI.
Notable for
Amodei began her career in global development and political campaigns before joining Stripe, where she managed risk and operations teams during the payments company’s rapid growth. She moved to OpenAI in 2018, ultimately serving as vice president of safety and policy.
In 2021 she co-founded Anthropic with her brother Dario and five other former colleagues, taking the role of president. She runs the operational side of the company — hiring, go-to-market, policy, and partnerships — while Dario leads research direction, a division of labor that has kept Anthropic unusually stable through hypergrowth.
Under her operational leadership Anthropic scaled from a research lab into one of the largest enterprise AI vendors, with the Claude family serving coding, agent, and knowledge-work use cases. She is one of the most senior women in the AI industry and a frequent voice on responsible deployment.
