Brett Adcock

Adcock previously founded the talent-marketplace company Vettery, which he sold, and co-founded the electric-aircraft startup Archer Aviation before turning to robotics. In 2022 he founded Figure to build a general-purpose humanoid robot.

Figure targets repetitive and physically demanding work in manufacturing and logistics first, developing its own AI system for perception and control after an earlier collaboration with OpenAI. The company has announced pilot deployments with large manufacturers to validate its robots in real work environments.

Adcock raised substantial funding at a multi-billion-dollar valuation from major technology and financial investors, reflecting broad conviction that humanoids could become a large market. Figure competes with Tesla's Optimus and a field of robotics startups racing to translate AI progress into dependable physical autonomy.
