Alexandr Wang is the founder of Scale AI and, since 2025, the chief AI officer leading Meta Superintelligence Labs. He built Scale into a critical supplier of training data and evaluation for the frontier labs before Meta's landmark investment brought him in-house.

Wang dropped out of MIT to co-found Scale AI in 2016 with Lucy Guo, building it into the leading provider of data labeling, human feedback, and model evaluation — inputs that every frontier lab depends on to train and align models. He became one of the youngest self-made billionaires as Scale scaled with the AI boom.
In mid-2025, Meta invested $14.3 billion for a 49% stake in Scale AI and recruited Wang to serve as chief AI officer, leading the newly formed Meta Superintelligence Labs. The move gave Meta elite talent and data capabilities while reshaping Scale's independence and prompting some rivals to reduce reliance on it.
