About the Daily Brief
The Daily Brief is one page a day covering what actually moved in AI: model launches and deprecations, price changes, funding rounds, chip and datacentre news, and regulation. It is written against the same archive that powers the live news feed, which collects from over 200 publishers including provider blogs, wire services and trade press.
Selection favours things with consequences over things with headlines. A price change on a widely used model matters more than a launch nobody can access yet, and a story carried by one outlet is treated more cautiously than one corroborated across several. Every item links out to the original reporting rather than reproducing it.
The brief sits between the two other formats here. The AI news feed is live and unfiltered, updated through the day, and is the place to go for everything. The Compute is a weekly long-form analysis of one theme. The brief is the middle ground: a daily record of what happened, short enough to read in a couple of minutes, and permalinked by date so it can be cited later.
Frequently asked questions
What is the AI Daily Brief?
A short daily summary of what moved in AI: model launches, API price changes, funding, infrastructure and regulation. Each edition is published at its own dated URL so it can be linked and cited, and every item points to the original source rather than reproducing it.
Where do the stories come from?
From the same continuously updated news archive that powers the live feed on this site, which draws from over 200 publishers including official provider blogs, wire services and specialist trade press. Stories are categorised and ranked by us; the reporting itself always belongs to, and links back to, the publisher who did it.
How is the brief different from the live news feed?
The live feed is everything, as it arrives, with no editing. The brief is a selection: one page covering the handful of things from that day that are likely to still matter next week. If you want completeness, read the feed. If you want the short version, read the brief.
How often is the brief published?
Daily, each edition dated and permalinked. When no brief has been published for the current day, this page shows the most recent edition and the live feed remains available in the meantime.
